Comedians Mark Banks, Donovan Goliath, Dillan Oliphant, Thabiso Mhlongo, Richelieu Beaunoir and Dave Levinsohn are set to go head-to-head in the grand finale of Comedy Central’s Roast Battle.

Taking place at Parker’s Comedy & Jive in Montecasino on 24 November, the comedians will take to the ring to see who will be crowned the ultimate Roast Battle champion.

The culmination of months of scorching jokes, barbed insults and sizzling one-liners, the grand finale will be recorded in front of a live audience, as the comedians will fight to the death armed with killer insults, deadly one-liners and wounding witticisms to claim the winning spot.

Going head-to-head for the ultimate champion’s belt, Mark Banks will battle Donovan Goliath, Dillan Oliphant will combat Thabiso Mhlongo, and Richelieu Beaunoir will attempt to take down Dave Levinsohn in the first round. The three finalists will then compete in a three-way ‘roast-off’, in front of host and Roastmaster, comedian John Vlismas.

Senior channel director of Comedy Central Africa and Creative Services VIMN Africa, Dillon Khan said, “The Roast Battle is a gladiatorial contest of wits and laughs that has captured the imagination of comedy fans. The live shows have been crammed with laughter and hilarious moments and we are looking forward to the ultimate finale.

“With each of the finalists bringing their A-game to the stage, it is impossible to predict who will remain standing at the end, but we anticipate a hilariously epic and suspenseful night of comedy before the victor is declared.”

Tickets for the show are priced at R150 and are available from Computicket or at the door on the day. Doors open at 6pm and only persons over 18 are allowed to see the show.

Roast Battle will premiere exclusively on Comedy Central, DStv channel 122, every Monday from 16 January next year at 9pm.
