Dainfern College said it stands with Amor Vittone and the Van der Westhuizen family as South Africa remembers and honours national sporting icon, Joost van der Westhuizen.

The school issued its deepest sympathies to all his family and friends, and particularly his children.

“We will always remember with pride and gratitude the role he played as a member of the victorious World Cup Rugby side in 1995 that helped to heal a fractured nation and make us all proud to be South Africans once more.

Rest in peace, Joost – we salute you,” the school said.
