Multi-talented artist Phike is on a winning streak

FOURWAYS – Read to see what international award-winning artist and Fourways resident, Martin Phike is up to.

International award-winning artist and Fourways resident, Martin Phike, also known as Martin PK is expanding his career interests and has joined the world of direct sales.

Phike is a singer/songwriter and actor. His rise to fame started when he entered Coca-Cola pop stars and was selected out of 15,000 entrants. He then became part of a four-man group called Ghetto Lingo.

It seems his gift of the gab goes beyond his well-tuned vocal pipes. As one of the fastest climbing independent sales representatives for the South African arm of US-based WorldVentures, Phike reached senior representative status within 35 days of joining the business industry.

Phike’s efforts are a testament to the adage by Ralph Waldo Emerson “Life is a progress and not a station”. The progression in his career comes in the form of WorldVentures where he has capitalised on his relationships and vast peer base to introduce them to the world of travel at an affordable price.

Selling holiday club membership is more than a hop, skip and a jump from a career in entertainment and when asked why the big change in direction, Martin’s response comes from the heart. “I am a family man with strong beliefs in the Christian faith. I want to spend more time with my family and more time doing good in the world. My new career offers opportunities to travel with my family, spend more time at home with my two young children and also dedicate some time to my charity work,” Phike explained.

Phike is the South African ambassador for global non-profit organisation Innercity Mission and also founded Sakhisizwe, a non-profit organisation which lends support to under-privileged school children through feeding and extra lessons programmes.

He explained that his success is based on setting goals and achieving them. “If you don’t have goals, you don’t have direction and without direction, your life cannot move forward in the direction you want it to,” he said.

Phike shared his short-term goals which are to dedicate more time to his new business venture. “With WorldVentures you are a business owner in your own right and, as with any new business, the effort you put in now will allow you to reap additional rewards later,” he said.

He also wants to create a team of business owners within his business. “I believe that wealth shared is the most rewarding wealth. It’s life-changing,” Phike explained.

Another goal he wants to achieve is to increase his fulfilment in life through contribution to his family’s well-being, to the church and to the two outreach programmes that he supports. “Most of all, I want to have fun while achieving all these goals,” Phike concluded.
