Fourways riders excited for first show of the year
TIMSRAND – Yard to host its first graded eventing show of the year.
Fourways Riding Centre is looking forward to hosting its first graded eventing show of the year on 24 January.
There are still entries open and riders can look forward to competing in dressage, showjumping and cross-country all in one day at the iconic Timsrand venue. “We had an eventing clinic already and it was good to see riders and their horses get back into it,” said yard owner, Marion Clough.
“We expect 60 to 70 people to participate in the show and it will be a nice way to start the year on a high note. There has been some rain, which makes the grass grow quickly, but we will manage it by the time the horses step into the cross-country arena.”
Eventing South Africa and South African Equestrion Federation safety guidelines will be implemented on the day.
These will include social distancing, the wearing of face masks when not riding, online entries and awards, the completing of self-assessment questionnaires and sanitising.
Furthermore, arenas will have separate entrances and exits, each rider may be accompanied by two attendees and one additional groom.
No additional spectators will be permitted.
After this, the yard will host a graded showing on 30 and 31 January.
