According to spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station, Constable Eliot Mabulane, the suspect in question is a 47-year-old man.

Mabulane added that a case docket was opened at Midrand Police Station and an investigation had commenced.

“The man was detained in the early hours of Monday at the Midrand Police Station and has made his first appearance in Midrand Magistrates’ Court to answer to all the allegations laid against him,” Mabulane said.

He warned community members that they should be aware that even a small crime committed could result in huge repercussions.

Mabulane concluded, “Being found guilty and fined R150 and upwards still constitutes a criminal offence which will result in a criminal record. Having a criminal record will disadvantage you in your future search for employment and other opportunities.”
