Broadacres robbery investigation continues

BROADACRES – Community members are encouraged to contact the police if they have information that could assist the investigation.


Douglasdale police are appealing to the community to come forward with any information on a robbery that took place in Broadacres on 17 April.

The business robbery took place in the evening when eight male suspects entered a liquor shop in the suburb. The men allegedly instructed customers to lie down and demanded money. During the incident, the manager of the store was allegedly shot by one of the suspects.

Spokesperson for the station, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the tills and safe before the suspects fled the scene. The police were informed about the incident. The paramedics certified the victim dead at the scene,” she said.

“No arrests have been made yet as investigations are still ongoing, and if anyone has any information on the incident, they need to come to the police station.”
