Nineteen suspects were arrested from July 2 to 4 in the Douglasdale policing precinct.
Spokesperson for the Douglasdale Police Station, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, said the suspects were arrested for a number of crimes including business burglary, common assault, shoplifting and theft. “The arrest of the suspects is an indication that the police are determined to ensure that the community of Douglasdale is safe,” she said.
She added that the public was encouraged to report all criminal activities in the area by phoning the Douglasdale Police Station on
011 699 1300 or 08600 10111. The public can also report any criminal activities on the MySaps app anonymously.
The arrested suspects are due to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
