Diepsloot police arrested three suspects, aged between 22 and 26, in Ext 7 for illegal possession of firearms and live ammunition on August 17.
Spokesperson of the Diepsloot Police Station, Captain Tinyiko Mathebula, said police were on patrol duties and spotted a suspicious vehicle in the early hours of August 17.
“Upon stopping and searching the vehicle, they found two suspects in possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition. The third suspect was only found in possession of live ammunition,” he said.
The suspects were set to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon. They were charged with the possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition.
