A local business recently handed over school shoes to learners at Njomelwane Primary School in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Based in Fourways, Masithuthuke Holdings offers certified IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) and Cisco courses in skills and development training.
As part of its WhyMySchool campaign that has been running for three years, the organisation arranged for a collection of shoes that would be donated to a school in KZN.
The company’s CEO, Liyanda Handula, travelled to Ulundi to donate the shoes.
“On the actual day, the Department of Labour and Cogta [Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs] came with us as they also assisted in handing the shoes to the learners at the school. “It was quite an emotional day seeing the condition of the learners’ shoes since the school is in a deep rural area,” he said.
“With our WhyMySchool campaign, we reach all schools in any province in the country, be it Western Cape, Gauteng or KZN as we don’t want to only have one area benefitting.”
