Kyalami Prep is the Discovery Knockout champ
Kyalami Preparatory School wins the bragging rights and has its name engraved on the 2023 Discovery Knock-Out Cup shield.
Kyalami Preparatory School (KPS) wins the bragging rights and gets their name engraved on the 2023 Discovery Knockout Cup shield.
The competition hosted 64 schools and KPS fought their way through until edging Christ Church Preparatory School in the final on August 1 to win the title. The game ended in a draw 1–1 and KPS took the honours on penalties.
“We are encouraged by the progress of our boys’ and girls soccer in all the phases at our school. This is a true testament to our strategic mission to make our school a high-performance sports venue. Many congratulations to the U13 boys’ soccer squad and all the coaches involved for a truly remarkable and memorable season. We are very proud of you,” said Christ Church Preparatory School in a statement.
KPS plans to honour the boys at a special assembly where they do a trophy and awards presentation in front of the school staff and parents. “We are so proud to have such a committed group of players, also our inspirational coach who has been with the boys for a number of years now. The coach has helped them function as a team, fight for each other, and fight as one. We plan to honour them and present the trophy at the school as they made us proud and be part of the history books,” said Kyalami Preparatory School headmaster David Hala.
“As head of the school, I am very proud of the boys for making sporting history. I hope we can continue growing and getting better and better every year,” Hala added.
