Sunninghill little ones celebrate the wonders of recycling
Young eco-warriors at Sunninghill Junior College showcase their creative flair by transforming recycled materials into stunning outfits, all in celebration of World Recycling Day.
The Sunninghill Junior College Preschool community came together on March 18 to celebrate World Recycling Day, an exciting and educational activity that focused on creativity and environmental stewardship.
Young learners transformed everyday recycled materials into imaginative outfits, showcasing their innovative spirit and commitment to sustainability.

This hands-on project was more than just a fun arts-and-crafts session; it served as a powerful lesson in the importance of recycling and repurposing. The children enthusiastically discovered that waste doesn’t have to end its journey in a landfill, instead, it can be reinvented into beautiful and functional creations.

Through teamwork and creative problem-solving, they not only crafted unique garments but also developed a deeper understanding of their role in protecting our planet.
“Our children are our future and it’s inspiring to see them engage with sustainability at such a young age. By participating in activities like this, they learn that their actions matter and even the smallest contributions can make a significant impact,” said Bev Singh, the school principal.
The enthusiasm was palpable as the children proudly displayed their creations, demonstrating that even the youngest members of our community can spark change.
