Crawford Lonehill learners go wild for animal-themed day

Crawford International Lonehill, learners unleash their creativity and transform into their favourite animals to celebrate an important day.

Animals play a vital role in our lives, bringing joy, companionship, and wonder to our world.

They are an essential part of our planet’s ecosystem and their importance cannot be overstated, from the majestic lions that roam the savannas to the tiny insects that pollinate crops.

As we strive to create a world where humans and animals coexist in harmony, we must teach the next generation to appreciate and respect these amazing creatures.

This is exactly what the young learners at Crawford International Lonehill did recently, as they embarked on a fun-filled adventure to celebrate their favourite animals on World Wildlife Day.

According to the United Nations, World Wildlife Day the day is celebrated every year on March 3 to celebrate wild animals and plants.

The school’s principal Kopano Dandala said, “Our pre-primary students celebrated World Wildlife Day with excitement and creativity. The day was filled with wonderful displays and engaging sensory play activities.”

In a delightful way of showing off their creativity and imagination, the learners were tasked with designing and creating animal-inspired costumes, transforming themselves into their beloved creatures.

From cuddly cats and playful puppies to majestic elephants and soaring eagles, the learners’ outfits did not disappoint but showed off their innovative spirit and passion for the animal kingdom.

“Our young Crawfordians amazed us with their impressive wildlife-inspired outfits, dressing up as their favourite animals. We also enjoyed a variety of fun and artistic activities, all centred around the beauty of wildlife. It was a fantastic celebration of nature and imagination.”
