Rivonia Recreational Club is elevating its game with exciting upgrades
The club has plans to upgrade its facilities, including redoing the ladies' bathrooms, giving the bar area a facelift, and creating a new seating area.
Nestled in the heart of Sunninghill, the Rivonia Recreational Club is a hidden gem that boasts breathtaking views, a well-stocked bar, and meticulously maintained facilities.
This picturesque club is a haven for those seeking a relaxing retreat or an active lifestyle, with its lush surroundings and spotless grounds.
However, despite its many charms, the club is eager to iron out a few wrinkles and take its offerings to the next level.
According to club manager Torbjorn Ottesen, the club has several exciting projects in the pipeline.

“The club’s main project is to redo the ladies’ bathrooms and to give the bar area a facelift,” he said. Additionally, the club is committed to addressing general maintenance issues, such as creating a new seating area to view tennis courts five and six, to ensure that the facility remains at its optimum level.
The club’s tennis courts are currently tournament and league-ready, but Ottesen noted that regular resurfacing was necessary to maintain their pristine condition.
“The tennis courts need to be regularly resurfaced, every five to eight years, so that they don’t fall into disrepair.”

He added that hosting tournaments such as Sets in the City was an important part of the club’s calendar, bringing in much-needed funds and showcasing the facility to potential new members.
“Hosting tournaments has various benefits. First, to provide a service to the community. Second, to bring finances into the club to pay monthly expenses, rates, wages, etc. Third, to showcase our facility, which will hopefully bring more feet to the club in future.”
By upgrading its facilities and hosting exciting events, the club aims to provide an even better experience for its members and guests.
