Local Rotary Club supports Witkoppen Primary School
The Fourways Main Reef Rotary Club steps up to support Witkoppen Primary School, providing essential stationery and funding crucial bathroom repairs.
The Fourways Main Reef Rotary Club visited Witkoppen Primary School to deliver essential stationery for the Grade R learners, fulfilling a request from the school based on their identified needs.
Witkoppen Primary relies heavily on external support due to a significant influx of new learners, which has made meeting the demands of state-provided resources increasingly challenging.
Furthering their commitment to the school, the Rotary Club funded urgent repairs to the school’s bathrooms over the Easter weekend. This initiative included replacing missing items such as cistern lids and hand basins and ensuring that all toilets were repaired and functional.

Carla Guedes Mendes of the Rotary Club expressed, “Both events signal only part of the commitment that our club is making to the school. As a school in our community area, we have decided to plan out support over the next few years that will include looking at how we can provide sustainable support.”
The club’s mission aligns with multiple Rotary areas of focus, including basic education and literacy, child health, water and sanitation, and hygiene.
