A champion born from nothing
With a confident outlook and a clear vision for the future, Ngobese is set to become a world champion.
EFC fighter Mfanafuthi Ngobese’s journey to the top is one of relentless dedication and unwavering belief in himself.
After his recent victory against Kelvin Smit, he said, “It became an easy fight for me… I didn’t expect to finish him in the first round, but I knocked him out with a knee. When I tried to choke him, he had already tapped out.” His calm confidence highlights the maturity of a fighter who knows his worth and potential.

Ngobese emphasised that finishing early was not part of his initial game plan. “There was no key to finishing him early; that was not my game plan exactly.” Yet, the outcome has only bolstered his confidence. “It brings more confidence, and that means I’m training hard and I must keep on doing even more.” His focus now is sharpening, especially on his groundwork, which he believes is his strongest asset.

Looking ahead, Ngobese has a clear vision. “I plan to finish all the flyweights… then move up to bantamweight.” He’s determined to climb the ranks and ultimately claim a world championship title. “In five years, I see myself as a world champion,” he stated with confidence.
Ngobese’s motivation extends beyond personal glory. “It will mean a lot, not only to me but to my family and also my fans who look up to me.” His ambition is rooted in a desire to inspire and uplift those who believe in him. But he acknowledges that achieving this dream requires support. “I need financial support to help me with travelling, rent, gym fees, and supplementation.”

He also recognises the power of visibility. “Through my fight kit, promotions like EFC, interviews, and advertising, I can promote my sponsors’ brands everywhere I go.” Ngobese plans to maximise this exposure, ensuring his sponsors’ logos are seen alongside his rising career. “By posting or mentioning my name every time they post about my upcoming fight, I’ll be making banners that include the sponsorships.”
His message to supporters is: “Please keep on supporting me, don’t stop. I will make sure I always make you proud.” His motivation is personal as well. “I think about my daughters every day. I want to change the life we’re living.”

With his eyes fixed on the future, Ngobese is not just fighting for himself but for a brighter future for his family and fans. His journey to becoming a world champion has only just begun.
