Semi-Soet – The Musical bring semi sweet fabulousness to Montecasino

A popular film adaptation brings romance, corporate rivalry, and Cape winelands charm to the stage in Johannesburg.

The stage adaptation of Semi-Soet – The Musical took over the Teatro at Montecasino on September 6.

The plot follows advertising executive Jaci, played by Anel Alexander, who hires JP, played by Bobby van Jaarsveld, to pretend to be her fiancé after discovering her new client prefers a committed partner over a workaholic.

Unbeknown to Jaci, JP is actually ‘the Jackal’, a cut-throat businessman aiming to acquire her agency.

With massive dance numbers and amazing stage design, which includes creating two locations on stage at once seamlessly and taking the Gauteng audience to a wine farm in the Cape, Semi-Soet makes a statement.

Fans of the original films, or Afrikaans theatre in general, can view the show at the Teatro at Montecasino until September 27.
