First stage of K60 road on track
PAULSHOF - An Environmental Impact Assessment of proposed extension of K60 Road from Rivonia to Main roads is underway.

Rock Environmental Consultants have circulated background information on the plan and asked interested and affected parties to comment.
The road will form an east-west link from Sunninghill to Main Road. Meanwhile, the impact assessment will investigate the terrain, ecology and animals in the area.
The second phase is a public participation process, including interviews with affected parties and report-backs on concerns raised.
The proposed road is a duel carriageway with a reserve width of 62m. A bridge will cross over the Braamfontein Spruit.
New storm water drains, public transport facilities, and pedestrian as well as cycle lanes would be added.
Ward 93 councillor Annette Deppe said, “The assessment will be followed by three public meetings. It is not my prerogative to comment on whether or not I support the road. I will hear what residents have to say and consider the best interest of residents.”
Affected parties have to register, and an information and comment sheet is available.
