A bullet of courage to inspire the community
PAULSHOF - A 9mm bullet changed Gillian Lindsell's life forever and she hopes her story will inspire and uplift others.

Lindsell will describe her life-changing experience in the launch of Self Seekers, free inspirational talks every month at Rivonia Recreation Club in Paulshof on 17 July.
The talks are inspired by Chris Page and Lindsell who have both been hosting inspirational talks on their own for a number of years. With a 20-year friendship backing them, Page and Lindsell have collaborated to serve community members looking for inspiration and self-development.
Page said, “We want people to start seeing things from a new and exciting perspective and spread some positive energy amidst the community.”
Lindsell’s talk will be followed by Page in August on his upcoming book, “From Fear to Faith”.
Lindsell will reveal her traumatic experience which started four years ago when her home, a hub of festivity, turned into a crime scene when she was shot.
Page said, “Gillian’s talk is not about highlighting the crime in this country, on the contrary it is a story of resilience.” The talks will cover a range of topics from true stories, coping with stress, minimising fear and developing self-worth.
Page said, “We like to encourage people to look at life from a positive and sometimes different perspective to show how incredible life can be.”
Page started his soul searching after his youngest daughter was born with severe congenital defects. He is now a minister of Metaphysics and a life coach. Self Seekers is the re-launch of his dinner talks, Food For Thought, at his Fourways home and his talks at the Waldorf School and he hopes to reach a wider audience.
With the Rivonia Recreation Club back in the hands of its board, Page believed the venue was central and ensured free access for the community.
Designated speakers are lined up but community members are encouraged to share their stories.
