Biliary dog getting better

FOURWAYS - Tiger, the boerboel-cross which was suffering from biliary is recovering well (Tiger, No judgement, week ending 12 July).

The dog’s owners who live in Orange Farm township had approached Pet Empowerment in Township (Pets) Jhb, based in Fourways, during one of their spayathons in the township to ask for medical help for Tiger who was losing weight rapidly.

As photos of Tiger were circulated, well-wishes poured in and some people were angered at his condition, but Nicole Badenhorst of Pets Jhb explained Tiger’s owners had not neglected him, but he had fallen ill quickly.

Tiger is now recovering in a foster home.

Laura Whittaker of Pets Jhb said, “His foster mom is loving him and taking such good care of him. His owner in the township sent Nicole a voice message to play for Tiger saying she misses him and he must get better and come home soon.”

Whittaker said Tiger was putting on weight and was on high calorie food to help him to get up-and-running soon. She said a community member had seen the article about Tiger and offered to donate food monthly for him.
