School makes sure underprivileged have full tummies

FOURWAYS - As part of HeronBridge College's outreach programme this year, the preparatory school will once again participate in the Stop Huger Now initiative.

The college will help pack nutritional meals for a pre-school in Diepsloot. “This is a project facilitated by the organisation called Stop Hunger Now SA, where we raise funds to pay for the raw materials and then have the fun of actually packaging them into meal packs,” said Teresa Porter, HeronBridge College preparatory school outreach co-ordinator.

She said this year the school would raise the funds in a hands-on way that would involve the effort of the children. “Our collection deadline is Friday, 2 August and we look forward to a bumper harvest of food,” Porter said.
