Tummies full on Mandela Day

GLENFERNESS - Cedarwood School's pupils collected a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter and a packet of instant soup for Mandela Day.

The pupils then made sandwiches in class for some of the local soup kitchens in the area. “We used our 67 minutes to help those in need in our community, ensuring that they had something to eat. At the same time, we had great fun learning what a challenge it could be making our own sandwiches,” said the school’s Dawn Schmitz.

“The sandwiches and soup, along with spare blankets from our previous blanket drive, were donated to Grace Point Church, who, along with some of our staff, distributed the sandwiches to local soup kitchens on 18 July,” she explained.
