Fourways Miss Earth domination
FOURWAYS - Two Fourways finalists make it to the last round of Miss Earth South Africa.

With the announcement of the Top 16 Green Glamazons in the running to become the next Miss Earth South Africa, two finalists call Fourways home.
Lucy Purdon, a psychology student and Carol Sithole, an investment banker joined the ranks of 14 other young South Africans in the running to become the next Miss Earth South Africa.
The finalists are a dynamic group of young women and include an investment banker, an artist, psychology graduates, and a masters student in alternative energies. According to organisers they would have been hard-pressed to find a more diverse group of talented young South African women.

In order to qualify for selection as a finalist, each participant was required to complete a number of community upliftment projects, and education and greening campaigns.
A panel of judges reviewed each participant’s submissions, project impacts, blog posts, social media activations and personal engagements to determine which ladies would progress to the next phase of the competition. One of the finalists, Ashanti Mbanga said, “I was humbled, grateful and extremely excited to continue the journey with the Miss Earth South Africa Leadership Programme.”
The finalists jetted off to the Cape Town where they participated in a series of school projects, beach clean-ups and volunteer sessions at the Marine Bird Rehabilitation Centre.
They were also involved in upliftment projects as part of Mandela Day.
