The hall was transformed to resemble the colourful and exotic fantasy planet to accommodate the evening’s Avatar theme.
The matric dance committee comprising of Grade 11 pupils spent days hand painting murals and decorations like flowers and dragons.
Committee member, Keely Knutton said, “When the night arrived the matrics walked into the room and their eyes lit up at the sight before them. The set of Avatar was laid out by means of beautiful decorations, a forest of trees and special lighting that was created for them. The main piece was a four meter high tree made from man made materials that had fairy lights draped over it to resemble the magnificent tree of life.”
