New high school for Northriding

FOURWAYS- North Riding celebrated the opening of a new secondary school, and with Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane and MEC of Education Barbara Creecy in attendance, it proved to be a major step forward.

In the midst of positive progress in the country’s education, with rising matric pass rates and the establishment of more schools, the opening of North Riding Secondary School on 13 March marked a move in the right direction for Fourways.

Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane, MEC of Education Barbara Creecy, and Ward 115 councillor Chris Santana attended to support the new school.

It is now one of only two government high schools in the Fourways area.

Santana said, “The school is welcomed and long overdue. I share the same vision as that of the parents and school principal in wanting North Riding Secondary School to be the preferred school of choice in our area. The parents have opted for the higher sciences to be taught at the school and trust that the Department of Education will fulfil this request.”
