School pays tax for welfare

FOURWAYS - The staff and pupils of Fourways High School took part in Tekkie Tax 2014.

The project is an annual fundraising campaign for a large mix of carefully selected welfare organisations, schools and institutions in South Africa. Non-governmental organisations which are accountable, reliable and have a history of good service are chosen as beneficiaries of this campaign.

Fourways High’s staff and pupils purchased Tekkie Tax stickers by giving R10 donations. There were five different kinds of stickers, each representing a different beneficiary sector. People were able to choose which of the five sectors they wanted to support, namely animal welfare, basic community welfare, children, disability or education.
