Lonehill learner a musical star

LONEHILL- Crawford Preparatory Lonehill pupil 12-year-old Joshua Middleton was chosen as a national finalist for the South African Championships of Performing Arts.

Preliminary rounds were held throughout South Africa, where Middleton was chosen out of 2 000 participants.

The South African Championships of the Performing Arts was held at the Rustenburg Civic Centre and the young singer achieved the following accolades in the Vocal Division:

  •  Gold for his solo in the Gospel Category
  •  Gold for his solo in the Pop Category
  •  Gold for his solo in the Rock Category
  •  Gold for his solo in the Contemporary Category
  •  Gold for his solo in the Open Category
  •  Gold for his solo in the Variety Category.

At the end of the evening he walked away with the prize in the overall Best Male Voice in the Vocal Category for the Junior ages five to 15, as well as the overall Grand Champions Male Vocal Category for the ages five to 30+.

Adding to this, he was chosen to perform at the final showcase event of the South African Championships of Performing Arts.

“We would like to congratulate Joshua on his amazing achievements and wish him well for his next competition,” said Dean Marsh, principal of Crawford Preparatory Lonehill.
