Dainfern cyclist excels
DAINFERN - Jayde Davies, a Grade 9 pupil at Dainfern College, has cycled his way to success.
Davies cycles in the Youth U15 category and has had a very successful season.
He participated in the Spur High School Mountain Bike series and placed first in three of the events and second in the fourth event.
Davies was then selected to represent Gauteng at the National and Interprovincial Finals at Bekker Schools in Magaliesburg on 4 and 5 October. The top three cyclists from each province, as well as those from Zimbabwe and Namibia, competed against each other.
Davies finished eighth out of 52 cyclists competing in the U15 Youth Boys’ race.
It was a tough race, with the top eight finishing within a minute of each other.
The Gauteng Team won the overall event.
