Bomb threat at Clearwater Mall

JOBURG - According to reports, there was an alleged bomb threat at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort on the morning of 2 March.

The shopping centre was immediately evacuated following the scare. Reports confirmed that a bomb squad is on the scene and is sweeping the centre.

According to New24, mall marketing manager Cecile Braun said, “About half an hour ago, a male phoned reception to say he had planted four bombs around the property. We contacted the landlord and got the building evacuated.”

“We don’t have much more information,” she added.

It is alleged that there are four bombs hidden in various places of the shopping centre and that the suspect involved is demanding a ransom to disclose the whereabouts of the devices.
