Building the future

KYA SANDS - The children of Build The Future Pre-Primary School on the edge of Kya Sands informal settlement received a surprise visit from the staff of property company Remax One Hundred Fourways.

According to Sharon O’Brian of the company, the children were treated to a lunch of sandwiches, cool drinks, cupcakes and assorted sweets.

She said, “Remax made a substantial donation of children’s toys and educational books that had been collected by the agents and staff.”

The company has also undertaken to continue to support the crèche on an ongoing basis.

Phillip Zapiro of the school said the school accommodated as many children as it could cope with. There were currently 45 children and the fees were R50 per month. He added that thanks to generous sponsors the children receive two meals a day and a safe haven to play and learn.
