A sad goodbye and a new beginning
FOURWAYS - Moving on after the death of their dog has not been easy for the Tibbet family, but believing that their beloved pet has given them his blessing has been of great comfort.
In March last year, Jaci Tibbet was devastated when her dog, Harry, passed away at the age of 14.
According to Tibbet, a few weeks after Harry’s death, she was sitting on her patio attending to some work on her laptop when she saw a curious sight in the sky above. “I looked up to the sky and the clouds had cleared, not for long though, but there was my precious Harry in the clouds looking directly at me with a big smile on his face … his eyes were sparkling, surrounded by a halo effect of the silver lining of the clouds. My heart lifted with absolute joy and relief as I just knew that he was safe and in heaven,” she said.
Taking this as a sign, Tibbet decided to adopt a one-year-old dachshund named Princess from Ark Animal Centre.
In a heart beat, a year had gone by and Tibbet realised that 8 March was the one year anniversary of Princess’ adoption.
“My sons, Jack and Kingsley, said we should buy Princess a cake so we did. We sang happy birthday and gave Princess a small piece of the cake, and more for the boys,” she said.
Later that day, Tibbet was again sitting on her patio doing some work on her laptop when she got the compulsion to look up at the sky, directly at the clouds. To her amazement she once again saw the outline of Harry and felt him looking down at her. “That was definitely Harry giving me a sign that he is looking over me always and is my guardian angel forever,” she said.
