School celebrates spring and plants trees

CROWTHORNE - The senior phase pupils from Midrand Primary and High School celebrated the start of spring in style.

Director of the school, Vijay Adulla said, “Pupils enjoyed wearing their [civvies] to school other than their uniforms to celebrate the new season. A modelling competition for the learners and teachers was held with prizes won from learners in Grade 8 and 9.”

Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo spokesperson, Joseph Ndou, said that Thomas Mudau from Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo also attended the celebration. “We donated and planted 10 trees at the school and taught pupils about the importance of looking after the environment and how trees contribute to it.”

The school thanked Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo for their contribution of the trees, and for helping to make the celebration of Spring Day a success.
