A sustainable future for Kyalami – hosted by the Kyalami Planning team

KYALAMI - All Kyalami area residents are invited to attend a meeting to discuss off-grid alternatives to sewage with the Water Research Council (WRC).

The meeting will take place at 7pm on 8 March at the Kyalami Country Club, Maple Road, Kyalami Ext 1.

According to CEO of the council, Dhesigen Naidoo, 30 percent of drinking water can be freed up for use if we move away from current water-borne sewerage systems.

With a proposed sewerage line on the cards in the area and a legal case against its installation in progress, this is a hot topic in Kyalami.

Residents are urged to come and hear what the alternative options are for a community that chooses to remain off the grid.

Also on the agenda, the Kyalami Planning team will discuss the City of Joburg’s Draft Spatial Development Framework based on the results of the 2015 survey of residents.

Robbyn Wilkinson, a resident of Kyalami, will present the enormity of the drought in South Africa, and on the inspiring contribution to the community has made in helping people and livestock in drought-affected areas.
