Fourways resident, turned author launches book
KYALAMI – Read up to see what your fellow community members are doing.
Fourways resident and now author, Thandeka Madondo launched her book titled Weeding Out at Summit College, Kyalami on 6 April.
Madondo explained to the guests at her launch that Weeding Out is a memoir of her journey to weed out everything that she is not, until what remains is who she truly Is, a story applicable to everyone.
“The response was amazing and I was so grateful to see the positive support from people. The book launch was very intimate and people loved the setup of my book lounge and Buti Mnyakeni who was my guest speaker for the evening,” Madondo expressed.
“The book depicts a spiritual journey as it has also influenced me to write more books. The feedback from those who have finished reading my book has been heartwarming as they explained how profoundly I write,” the author said.
Guests also enjoyed a short talk on philosophy as author and speaker Mnyakeni shared his take on finding your purpose in life. “Once in a while, we will all hold a mirror that exposes us to what we are. We may not always like what we see, but the journey to becoming demands that we look into that mirror. In this book, I believe Madondo picked a piece of the big mirror that we are all afforded, and she has decided to shine it in the light of public opinion, exposing her vulnerabilities and strengths,” guest speaker Mnyakeni shared.
