EXCITED: Maria Montessori House pupils assemble in class to kick off the school's birthday celebrations.
Maria Montessori House on Cedar Road celebrated 25 years on 20 May, making it one of the longest established private primary schools in the area.
The school started out in a house in Farmall, grew in size and soon moved to its present location. Headed up by Anne O’Regan for most of its existence, the school was recently taken over by Nika Funnel.
On the day, pupils formed a large 25 on the soccer field and were photographed from above by a drone. One of the moms baked a cake with the school’s logo on.
O’Regan was guest of honour and addressed the school and then led a tree-planting ceremony to commemorate the day.
