The Douglasdale Community Policing Forum is urging the community to support and assist the Douglasdale Victim Support and become counsellors in the community to come and assist at the Victims Support Unit.
The group is situated at Douglasdale Police Station and the ideal candidate must have counselling skills as well as some psychology knowledge.

According to the chairperson of the forum, Jean Berdou, the position is a voluntary service to the public and is not a paid position. “If you have an aptitude for counselling and empathy for others and have a counselling or psychology background and are willing to assist in helping others in our community who have been victims of crime, then please heed the call for getting involved with the Douglasdale Police Victim Support group,” Berdou expressed.
He added that the candidate’s time must also be flexible as they might be needed at any time during a 24-hour period. Training will be provided and own transport is essential.
