Putting the needs and safety of others before your own is always seen as a commendable act and bearing testament to this is Douglasdale Police Station’s Shift A. Nominated for the best shift in the #TopCop Awards, is Shift A led by Lieutenant Colonel Botha.
Botha shared how happy and grateful they were as a team to be nominated. “We feel very grateful to be nominated by our colleagues as the best shift this month, as this shows that they acknowledge the work that we do as a team,” Botha said.

According to head of communications at the station, Captain Mpho Kgaosane, Shift A was nominated due to its quick reaction to the crime reported this past month. “The shift was able to respond [well] to the amount of crime reported while they were on duty and the number of arrests they made while on duty,” Kgaosane said.
