All things scary and creepy were the order of the day at Kildrummy Pre-Primary’s mini walk and fundraising family fun day in Paulshof.
Taking part in Halloween, schoolchildren along with their parents were all dressed-up for a worthy cause.
According to the principal of the preschool, Ursula Vlok, the fun day was an initiative done by the school’s PTA aiming to raise funds for the school.
“The fundraising day is also a fun day for the children as well as for the parents to get to know other parents. The money raised will go towards putting soft tracks on the cycle track as 10 per cent goes to a charity.”
Vlok explained that the year has been quite challenging for them as they have lost quite a few children to other bigger schools in the area and some parents have moved abroad.
“This is why it is important to get the support we need for the community.”
She explained that their target for this year was to raise between R22 000 and R23 000 as they raised R25 000 to R26 000 last year. “We have fully qualified teachers and strive to give the best level of education to our learners.”
