And then there were three

PAULSHOF – After Steyn City School was knocked out of the quarter finals of the Bragging Writes School quiz, three local schools are set to battle it out for the top spot.

Steyn City School has been knocked out of the best book quiz in Fourways right now.

On 20 September, the schoolchildren involved in the Bragging Writes School Book quiz once again faced off at the Skoobs Theatre of Books in Montecasino as they compared their book knowledge. The night’s quiz was the quarter-finals of the competition and saw book-loving teams from schools HeronBridge College, Reddam House Helderfontein, Brescia House and Steyn City School face off to see who would make it to the semi-finals, which will be held in October.

The quiz had six rounds in total and Natasha Sutherland, author and actress of Egoli fame, once again took up the position of quizmaster.

The first round focused on classic and contemporary books; the second on books that have been turned into movies and series; the third on books from the wizarding world (with nine of the 10 questions focused on the Harry Potter series of books); the fourth required competitors to correctly identify excerpts from books; the fifth asked the children to correctly connect pictures and graphics to the books that they are from and the sixth was a round of book-related general knowledge.
