Calling all actors, singers, dancers and models to audition for The International ARTS Talent Showcase

JOBURG – It is important to note that this is not a competition. It is a platform to nurture local talent, provide artists with business opportunities and create longevity in the workplace.

Producers of The International ARTS Talent Showcase (IATS) are calling all actors, singers, dancers and models to audition (by registration only) for local talent scouts on November 7 at The Venue, a first-class venue in the hub of Melrose Arch.

Every year, Elsubie Verlinden – director of 33 & Me Talent Agency and producer of the IATS – travels the country to scout local talent. She not only provides artists an opportunity to showcase their talent, but provides opportunities for international education, so that the youth of our nation can grow and nurture their skills in their various faculties.

Those who receive a call back at the audition will have the opportunity to be part of the IATS 2022, now in its 12th year, where they will proceed to showcase their talent in front of top international talent scouts.

Verlinden said, “We are looking forward to hosting multi-talented aspiring artists in search of career and casting opportunities in the film and fashion industry. As we are navigating our way through the midst of a global pandemic and towards voting polls, it’s time for the youth in our nation to ensure their voices are heard. After much struggle, the industry is catching momentum and slowly returning to normal standard.”

The IATS 2021, which was held at Silverstar Casino the weekend of 23 – 25 September, awarded youngsters more than a million dollars worth in scholarships, for local talent to study at AMDA in Los Angeles or New York City, the number one performing arts college in the United States.

The highly celebrated event, IATS 2021, welcomed six American agents, including the Global Head of Brand Programs at Netflix, Kamey Butler. Tyler Perry Studios senior casting executive, Rhavynn Drummer, also joined the panel scouting talent for the popular Tyler Perry Studios feature titled Sistas.

It is important to note that this is not a competition. It is a platform to nurture local talent, provide artists with business opportunities and create longevity in the workplace. Furthermore, after years of making the dreams of actors, singers, models and dancers come true, Verlinden has decided to invest time and money into the Mother City, by opening a 33 & Me Talent Agency branch in Cape Town in January 2022.

This will give local talent in the Cape the opportunity to partake in local castings, growing their brand and experience. Verlinden said after 12 years of travelling to Cape Town and seeing the passion and vision of the youth there, it is time to give back.

“It is now time for the Mother City to capitalise from these opportunities,” Verlinden said. “We want to ensure that youngster’s dreams are taken to the next level.”

Those who would like to audition on 7 November, can email Elouise Janse van Rensburg on info@itsartsafrica.co.za
