Champions are made in the ring
The Fourways Southpaw showed great form in the fight against the Romanian fighter.
Fourways local Kevin ‘Two Guns’ Lerena outgunned Romania’s Bogdan Dinu for the World Boxing Association Intercontinental heavyweight title at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on March 26.

Lerena won by TKO when the fight was stopped by the referee in the fourth round of the 12-round scheduled bout.
Lerena said, “I feel good, really good. Made a big statement by knocking out the big man Dinu.”

The 29-year-old, who has an impressive record of 27 wins and one loss in 28 fights, recently transitioned from cruiserweight to the heavyweight division and is already making big moves. He claimed that his transition to this division was no issue at all for him. “Transition went really smooth, besides my injuries I’ve really adjusted well to the step up.”
Lerena said he had big plans for his career. “I’m seven times cruiserweight world champion. I need to become heavyweight world champion next. That’s my next goal on my list.”
