A number of police stations arrested more than 50 suspects for various crimes from September 16 to 18.
Stations including Douglasdale, Diepsloot, Randburg, Honeydew, Linden, Florida, and Roodepoort arrested 56 suspects at the weekend during various operations.
Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, spokesperson for the Douglasdale Police Station said the arrested suspects will soon appear in the Randburg and Roodepoort magistrate’s courts.
“The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from attempted murder, dealing in drugs, malicious damage to property, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, contravention of section 49 of the Immigration Act Section 49, shoplifting and dealing in liquor without a license.”
