Teams draw at tournament

New Hope Stars Academy U13 soccer team went head to head with Dainfern for the Doctor Khumalo Knockout Tournament on Sunday, 30 July. The game started very well at Dube Stadium, in Soweto. Competition was tough and both teams scored one goal, making it a draw.

“I am happy with the performance of my team. It went really well because they applied all the techniques we used during practice. The competition was tough but I am happy with how they played the game,” said New Hope Stars coach Cambridge Magajane.

He said his team qualified for the tournament because of last year’s fixtures. “We came prepared, and I am so happy that they got an opportunity to showcase their talent through this tournament. It really means a lot to us because we love soccer.”
