Witkoppen clinic invites residents to observe World TB Day

They will be holding an event that educates their patients on the disease.

With World TB Day taking place on March 24, Witkoppen Clinic will be hosting a clinical campaign aimed at raising awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) and to advocate for its eradication. According to the business development assistant – corporate and government liaison, Sbonga Shange, the campaign will commemorate the day and renew the clinic’s commitment in combatting TB through the provision of affordable and comprehensive healthcare in the greater Johannesburg North. They are encouraging everyone to come test for the disease.

“South Africa is often ranked the highest in terms of incidence rate for TB and has reported an estimated 54 200 TB related deaths in 2022. It is for this reason that collective action is needed and awareness is paramount,” said Shange. With the theme of the event this year being ‘Yes! We Can End TB’ the staff is excited to educate their patients on the disease.
