During the campaign, officers observed a concerning number of valuables such as mobile phones, laptops, and handbags left visibly in vehicles. Authorities strongly urged residents to keep their belongings out of sight to reduce the risk of becoming targets.
The Douglasdale CPF expressed gratitude to all partners involved, especially Douglasdale police, for their dedication to community safety. They emphasised the importance of continued collaboration to keep Douglasdale a safe place for all residents. Councillor Vino Reddy was also present at the campaign, demonstrating support for ongoing crime prevention efforts.
“Public response to the campaign was positive, with many residents appreciating the information and support. Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly by calling SAPS at 10111 or contacting Douglasdale police directly at 011 699 1333. The shift commander can also be reached at 071 675 7158,” said Freda Boiles of the Douglasdale CPF.
