Blaze at Paulshof substation leaves Fourways residents in the dark
A fire at a Paulshof substation has left large parts of Fourways without power, with Eskom and emergency teams still investigating the cause.
Emergency teams from FADT SecureFire and CPF members of the Sandton Community Police Forum responded to a fire at the end of Wroxham Road in Paulshof on September 12.
The blaze broke out near a substation and is believed to be connected to the widespread power outage affecting large parts of the Fourways area.

Eskom confirmed that customers in Beverley, Lonehill, Magaliessig, and Paulshof are currently without electricity.
“We are attending to the outage … At this stage, we are not able to give the estimated time of when supply will be restored. We apologise for the inconvenience this causes,” Eskom said in a notice on social media.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway, while residents remain without power as technicians work to restore the supply.
Ward 94 Councillor David Foley said some areas in Fourways, like Craigavon, are also out of power, which he suspects could be linked to the mini substation that blew up.
“The power utility is aware, and they confirmed to go on the site to investigate the cause of the fire. We will be able to know the cause after their investigations.”
