Author’s mindful book helps SA public find their sweet spot
Wellness expert Sue Fuller-Good shares how a demure mindset and mindful choices can lead you to life’s sweetest spot, where calm and energy coexist.
After more than three decades of working hands-on with clients, wellbeing specialist Sue Fuller-Good has distilled her lifelong learnings into a book, and a series of transformative programmes, designed to help people live with greater balance, vitality, and purpose.
Her latest book, The Sweet Spot: Energise your Work and Life so you Thrive, brings together insight from multiple disciplines and lessons from her own personal journey. “I wanted to share the ideas that I felt could help people improve the quality of their lives, and feel a whole heap better.”

Fuller describes wellbeing as a way of life, not a destination, and believes that energy is the prized treasure that comes from achieving that balance. “It’s a series of wisely made choices that ‘buy’ you wellbeing.
“This book will inspire you to make the wise choices. It will also motivate you to find the balance that is the magic bullet that lies at the centre of the quest for wellbeing.”
One of the key practices she talks mostly about is mindfulness, which she considers central to holistic wellness. “Seeking to find the sweet spot – or the middle ground – between any two polar extremes, is an easy tool which will render great results very fast.”
This balance, whether between living selfishly and selflessly, or between pleasure seeking and pleasure avoiding, forms the foundation of the book’s philosophy.
Beyond her writing, Fuller has also developed several wellbeing programmes such as Body Brilliance, The Energy Incubator, and The Endless Energy Programme.
“I started with Body Brilliance, which included all the offerings of physiotherapy, life coaching, mindfulness training, lifestyle coaching, and exercise classes. People started asking me to do the work I had done for them, and out of those requests birthed The Energy Incubator, which is the corporate wellbeing training and coaching arm.”

Fuller-Good sees The Sweet Spot as a toolkit for transformation. “The ideas I shared through stories and case studies demonstrate how to put the strategies into use, and explains the outcomes you can hope to gain from using them.
I hope my readers, who privilege me by reading my book, will feel truly empowered to build their own wellbeing. Then they will feel vibrant, energised, happy, and fully alive.”
As the year winds down and many people find themselves feeling fatigued or overwhelmed, Fuller-Good recommends starting small – with mindfulness.
“I always recommend starting with the basic mindfulness course, which teaches calming techniques to regulate your nervous system, breathing strategies, and relaxation processes. It helps participants understand their own minds and obtain mastery over them, and therefore improve their mental health.”
