“We can’t wait to welcome everyone back on 12 January, refreshed and ready to embrace 2026 with enthusiasm and new energy. Wishing you a safe, joyful, and restful holiday season.”
Unity College has enjoyed an uplifting and achievement-filled 2025. One of the standout highlights was the Annual School Concert, Local is Lekker, held on 16 August. The performance showcased the creativity, determination, and talent of the learners, leaving many in the audience teary-eyed with pride.

The school also celebrated the launch of a significant initiative, its new Barista Course, now available to Senior Phase learners. This programme equips young adults with practical skills and opens pathways to future employment, aligning strongly with Unity’s broader vision of enriching each learner’s educational journey and preparing them for the world of work.

In addition, Unity introduced coding and robotics into the Senior Phase curriculum from Term 3. This exciting step encourages innovation and problem-solving while nurturing teamwork, communication, and creativity among learners. For a school serving learners with diverse needs, these subjects represent an expanded commitment to offering quality, future-oriented education.
“The new year will bring even more growth. Unity College is preparing to launch a Vocational Training Centre for learners aged 19+, offering a dedicated skills-based programme separate from other school phases.
From hospitality and food production to beauty therapy, office administration, agriculture, and coding, the centre will offer a wide range of courses. “The vision is clear: to build independence, enhance employability, and create a bridge between school and the workplace through meaningful partnerships,” said Kirk.
