Reflecting on 2024, the stables are proud of the growth and connections that developed throughout the year.
“The stables’ competitive riders demonstrated remarkable dedication and success, showcasing their skills in prestigious competitions like the Stepping Stones League and South African National Equestrian Schools Association (SANESA). Their accomplishments are a testament to the supportive and nurturing environment that Chartwell Stables provides,” said Lara Emmett, of Chartwell Stables.

The past year was enriched by numerous themed training shows, and participation in clinics led by renowned expert Peter Emmett, which exposed riders to various equestrian disciplines. This initiative has encouraged riders to broaden their skills and embrace new challenges.
Chartwell Stables’ pony camps provided younger riders with a unique and enjoyable experience, allowing them to spend time outdoors, forge lasting friendships, and engage in activities centred around their passion for horses. The stables plan to continue these beloved camps in 2025, further enhancing their offerings to young equestrians.
Emmett shared their vision for the future, emphasising the commitment to fostering community. “As we turn the page to a new year, we’re filled with excitement for the adventures and opportunities that lie ahead. We are committed to providing a supportive environment where riders can not only learn but also create lasting memories with one another.

“Looking forward, Chartwell Stables is set to implement more interactive social activities such as bonfires, braais, and games nights aimed at strengthening community bonds.”
They will also organize excursions to key equestrian events and venues, helping riders cultivate a sense of adventure in their equestrian journeys.
Additionally, Chartwell Stables is expanding their clinic offerings to include a variety of coaches from different disciplines, further enriching riders’ training experiences and skill sets.
