Comfort Molefe finds his frequency to becoming beloved radio host and MC

Breaking into the world of MCing and radio hosting can be daunting, with rejection and self-doubt lurking around every corner.

]With a soothing voice and personality that lights up the airwaves, Comfort Molefe is the perfect blend of uniqueness, charisma, and talent.

This dynamic radio host, MC, and in-store announcer has been strutting his stuff in the entertainment industry, and his journey to stardom perfectly reflects his dedication.

By day, Molefe can be heard as the friendly voice of Builders in Fourways, where he works as an in-store announcer, engaging customers and adding to the shopping experience. He’s found a sweet spot in this role, enjoying the opportunity to connect with people and make their day a little brighter.

Comfort Molefe found his niche when he least expected it, and it is all thanks to his teacher.

“I entered a competition in 2019 where Gold Reef City Casino was looking for an in-house announcer, meaning someone to facilitate draws that would take place at the casino. I attended auditions and I made it, ever since I have been having fun while at it,” he said.

But that’s not all; Molefe’s talents extend far beyond the store aisles. His love affair with public speaking began in matric, and with the encouragement of his teacher, he took the leap into radio and has become a beloved host on Eden Radio in Edenvale.
“I have had so many moments where I have witnessed people’s dreams coming true through my work. Seeing those moments drives my passion.”

He believes that his voice is a gift and exactly what sets him apart as a radio host and MC.

“This is a gift that has been given to me by God. I believe I have a unique style that no one else has.”

He added many aspiring radio hosts and MCs, especially young people, struggle to break into the industry due to confidence issues or misconceptions about the difficulty of securing gigs. However, Molefe’s advice to those seeking to follow in his footsteps is to prioritise a balanced mindset.

“I always plan to balance my work. I practise mindfulness. With this work that we do, we are always in our heads thinking about the next move, so it is super important to take a moment and just recharge. I also try to surround myself with people who understand and support me.”

This mindset has served Molefe well as he’s built a thriving career.

“I have been off the air for quite a bit, and I am happy that I will be back on the airwaves in April. I also gave a couple of projects that I will be doing, such as voiceovers, which I have not done but am currently training for.”
