Drive 2 Unite 2025 returns to empower South Africa’s young learners

Blessing Lives NPO invites communities and businesses to unite for the annual Drive 2 Unite charity event, where every donation of sanitary products helps ensure that no girl misses school due to period poverty.

Blessing Lives NPO, based in Fourways, is committed to eradicating period poverty and is excited to announce the return of Drive 2 Unite 2025.

This impactful charity event will take place on June 22 at the Montecasino Events Area, bringing together communities, businesses, and individuals to support young learners across South Africa.

Drive 2 Unite is an annual charity event that aims to provide sanitary pads and menstrual health education to underprivileged girls, ensuring that no learner misses school due to period poverty.

Over the past two years, Drive 2 Unite has collected more than 34 000 packs of sanitary pads, empowering thousands of young girls to attend school with confidence and dignity. The event features a car, bike, and 4×4 run, bringing automotive enthusiasts together for a cause that truly makes a difference.

This year, Blessing Lives is taking Drive 2 Unite further by not only supporting young girls but also focusing on supporting the emotional and social well-being of male learners.

The collected sanitary products will be donated to schools within the Johannesburg area. In collaboration with the Department of Basic Education, the initiative will incorporate educational components on menstrual health, hygiene, emotional support, and social development for girl and boy learners in under-resourced schools.

To expand its impact beyond its annual event, Blessing Lives is introducing Sanitary Pad Drop-Off Boxes, which will be strategically placed in high-traffic locations across South Africa.

These boxes provide an accessible way for businesses, schools, and the community to contribute throughout the year.

Each donation directly supports underprivileged schools, ensuring that girls have a continuous supply of sanitary products.

“Businesses can partner with us by sponsoring a box, which will be branded with their logo and placed in high-visibility areas, furthering their corporate social responsibility efforts while making a meaningful impact,” said Tiamara Andrew, the ambassador for Blessing Lives.

“Individuals or businesses can support this initiative by being present on June 22 at Montecasino from 11:00 to 15:00 to donate pads or become a sponsor/volunteer.

“Together, we can break the silence, end period poverty, and create a more inclusive society for all learners.”
